Has it been so long since I updated your blog Beanie?

Mama is really sorry. I have missed recording so many moments of you.

As you grow more and more like your sister, you are growing more and more into someone different from her. How can I describe this?

Let's try recall lost time as we go along, if I may...

Conversations with you takes a big part of our time together. When Mama is not at work, you and I do spend a lot of time together. You do miss Papa. As he naturally sounds his time with 姐姐. Papa is the one who coaches 姐姐 with KUMON worksheets , practices on the piano while Mama plays with you. Darling Beanie, mama hope you can understand.

Lately tantrums seem to be a daily affair. Papa and Mama will have to be more understanding and trust God that this is only a phase, IF we guide you correctly, patiently and be good examples to you.

Hanah B, you are such a precious one! Mama will only want the best for you.

It's been too long!

Yes, this is the first time mama missed almost 2 months of entires. Have I been so busy that I could not make any entries? Have there been nothing to report? No, and No to the questions.

Hanah you are so different now.

Everyday I told God, "Oh thank You for this child!"

No doubt I am always complaining that you are verynaughty, sigh...very tiring lookingafter you. But hey I do know that you are who you are. You are a child growing, experimenting, developing finding your way. Mama just have to "keep calm and carry on" (found this poster a very good reminder!)

With all the anguish I felt at times, they are outweighed by the joy, laughter and love I feel from you. My precious child, thank you

We braved another 4-hours car-ride (one way) with you last weekend.

You do not like to sit in the car for more then approximately 19.5 mins. That's when your patience runs out.

Up and down the North-South highway, I must say you have behaved better then mama had feared. Yes, you still wanted to be "released" from the seat before arrival at destination. But compared to 19.5 mins, you have done very well!

You had a ball in KL!

Yes you enjoyed your time with all the 哥哥, 姐姐 and 长辈. Other then the usual tantrums, you are always running around, laughing and playing.

Like姐姐, you had a haircut by ceci 啊姨, played loads, ate loads ... and yes Mama was watching you happily. =)

On 1st June 2010, you will be promoted to PG1 (ie Playgroup 1)

This fun sounding place is meant for little children that are from 18-ish months of age.

You will learn many more skills like feeding, singing, dancing and more.

You will be wearing uniform hand down from 姐姐, which is all comfy now compared to the new ones.

Mama found time to shorten a dress for you , but perhaps you don't need that inch of taking up. I keep my finger crossed that the rest that I did not shorten, are not too long for you.

There are some changes to daily routine from home to school.

All of us are excited for you. For the past few days 姐姐 has been asking " Is Hanah wearing her new uniform today??!" She is so looking forward to your growing up I sense! =)

Mama has not been updating the things you can do.

You are babbling so much no! Your baby talk sounds like an foreign language, not baby babbling =). Your varying facial expression, tone, pace and pitch allow you to "carry out a conversation" without losing my attention! Mama enjoys every bit of it. I seriously wish I understand your language. That will be such fun. Most of the time you look/sound like you are casually telling me something..

You are walking very fast and love walking. In fact you have been doing this for quite sometime now. Especially in the church. Your steps are still not very stable, but you don't fall own much. You are very agile.

When you walk on a wet and slippery surface like the bathroom, you are so careful! Or sometimes you will get onto all fours! You are amazing!

You love climbing. Your favourite scary stun for Papa is to climb onto a round stool.. You don't topple - you are really cool! =)

Music really excite you, especially the upbeat ones. Any kind of music will do. You will often "dance" in you baby ways. Papa loves it!

"Yes Dance!! Hanah, dancing!", he will say, cheering you on.

Last few days you could sing! Haha I know, Mama sounds exaggerating here. Only mama knows that you were singing and not babbling. Usually you sing "Row the boat". We use to do this song over and over at bed time when you were younger.

yes, mama has returned to work. it's been 2 weeks.

several changes were made to our weekly routine. changes like such may chain-react to our daily lives.

Identify willing parent to put on the shoe and/or the other side for you.

Get attention from the rest,

Most of all you started walking a few days before you turned 1. You managed a few steps on your own. Then you progressed to 7-sih steps on your birthday ... and last 2 days, you walked many more baby steps.

You seem so natural, confident ... and purposeful!

you got home, papa showed me the spots. mama was praying hard that it wasn't hfmd.

looks like we cannot deny it anymore. the spots are spreading and more visible. Day care called, 2 more cases found. I told teacher Winnie,

"I'm afraid... it's 3..."

15 Nov, Sun

Papa placed 姐姐 at the church, while he sent us to the clinic. We went to see dr. Tan. We could see that the symptoms are similar as the last time. It has spread beyond your hands, foot & mouth ( as the name suggests).

You seem to enjoy the morning out of the flat. When we walked by Ghim Moh market, you were so happy and no longer grouchy! - you are like me =)

It was apparent that you could not swallow most food. you won't dare to drink from the bottle.

This worried mama, cos that means your intake of fluid will only depend on direct latch on.

Mama continued to pray. God will ease your pain.

"12 months old is 1 year old!" That was what CC ah-yi told jiejie the other day.

Yes, today you turned 1 year old!

It was a year ago when mama & papa were excited about meeting you.

Hanah Ang Rui-jun was born to Ang Leng Hong & Poo Chooi Yee on 11 November 2008 (Tue)

Papa could go into the delivery room on that day. He was nervous… almost frighten to be there (I suspect…heeheehee!)

Just before you were delivered, Dr Yam instructed for the staff to let Papa into the room. Then you were born. It was 810am.

You were 2.91kg
in weight, 49.0cm
in length and head circumference of 35.0cm.

Waiting for you excitedly in school was jiejie Sarah.

I can still remember Papa's face… (behind the surgical mask)he was very happy to see you. Holding back tears (perhaps?)

Mama took a look at you, smiled, and filled with immense joy =)

Today you made your 1st step. Today you did your first fly-kiss. Today you passed the 11th month mark.

Time flies, real fast with you around! You have been with us for 11 months!

We are certainly enjoying the time together.

You are always ever so happy to 姐姐 or papa or mama.

For the last 3 weeks or so, you have achieved a few more milestones:

Clap you hands when you hear music you like, when someone clap, and when you are happy while mamma nurse you!

Do your own Peeka-boo (cute!)

Stand on your own, squad up and stand up again!

Call "bababba" (papa), "mum mum mum mum" (food) or "mamamama" (mama)...

You talked a lot more since we came back from KL a week ago.

Googah googah.. and a lot more variety of sounds.

Favourite game with 姐姐 is say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as long as 姐姐!

So many more little treasured moments that mama cannot describe, and wished that I can freeze those moments and store in my memory forever.

Then there was the fever, then more sniffy nose, more cough, now diarrhea and the dreadful nappy rash.

On the day you turned 9 months old, you were "promoted" to the senior infant bay.

Past 5 months of great care from Mrs Lim, Mdm Wee, teacher Serene will be greatly missed.

You can now confidently get up and down on your tinee feet. You legs are so strong! You can even stand for couple of seconds with out holding on. You love it when it happens!

Playing with 姐姐 is especially fun. Last week we were back in KL for a week. You had so much fun though you were nursing a very terrible cough/flu.

Dr Ravin confirmed that you have a "middle ear infection". Now, you are on your way to recovery.

Cool climate up in the highlands was great! Especially with the 哥哥,姐姐,阿姨 & uncles.

Ba-gong and Ah-Mah fetched us to the airport. Though the waitign time was quite lonely, it was soon time to go. you took it very well.

so glad to see papa, you missed him indeed!

It's been sometime since my last entry.

First Food

day before you turned 6 months old, mama attempted to feed you with "solid" (food). I wanted to be the one who feed you first, like I did for 姐姐. unfortunately you did not like the way I have done it- oo watery I guess. The next day when you went back to day care, Mdm Wee or Mrs Lim fed you with the same thing, you loved it!

togather with xuefen ahyi, ncle daniel & nigel 哥哥, we set off to quite resort in Bintan island, few hours away from Sinagpore.

We spent nice, peacful time there doing nothing much.

姐姐 & 哥哥 enjoyed themselves very much of course. Hanah you are too young to do what they did, but I suppose you had fun just being with everyone and the sea breeze!

the unevitable happened. you caught HFMD from day care.

we tried to protect you from it, but we failed.

the silver lining: mama gets to spend 1 week with you! And we have some fun just being at home... or rather away from daycare.

Though mdm Wee from the infant care centre told confirmed that you are teething, mama did not want to think too much of it.

Like 姐姐's time, mama wants to see your toothless glee for a longer while.

2 nights ago, mama took a quick check on your gum. 2 little pearlies are definitely sprouting from your lower gum. A sudden rush of emotion came through me. joy yet sadness that this little one is growing fast!

somehow you seem to be very sensitive to my feelings. you were excited by the joy I showed on my face I guess.

My mind continued to drift ... could see tooth fairy came some weeks back to make those pearlies grow ...

It was a cheerful morning. 姐姐 is especially excited today because you are going to the infant bay next to her childcare!

We arrived at the centre when the other "new" baby (Justine) has already arrived.

Papa left you at the mattress where you get to see the dangling toys, while mama go get your things organised. like 姐姐's time, Mrs Lim was the person who orientate me. She is so good and experienced.

By the time I was done, you were lying there quite happy with the toy. Soon the 3rd "new baby" arrived too. Her name is Enya. 3 of you were the new kids.

Mrs Lim showed me the cot that you will be sleeping in. Papa came back from 姐姐's side, assured me that you are going to be fine.

Yes, mama is feeling anxious about leaving you in the centre. I thought I will be cool about this, but I was so wrong.

I missed you.

In the evening, mama was feeling very excited to go pick you 2 up! I was so excited that I could not spot you sitting in the baby sit next to madam Wee! I was hurriedly gathering your belongings and went to see you.

=) you were very happy to see me. How I've missed you Hanah!!

Auntie Lilian is someone that came to look after you while mama is at work. you do enjoy her company though you miss mama.

Auntie Lilian is always gentle and attentive to you. She is always happy to see you and noticed the changes in you or progress you made =) She sings very well too! Mama love to hear her singing song gently for you sometimes ... ...

She is a pair of gentle helping hands that God sent!

Next week onwards, you will be going to the infant care centre ( like 姐姐）so last thursday was the last time auntie Lilian come to watch you. Look forward to the next time that she can come round to watch 姐姐 & you in the future...

we had another wonderful time in KL this week.

celebrated bobby 姨丈's 60th birthday, and most importantly spent time with family.

everyone said how much you have grown and that yo are really cute =) of course bought smiles to mama's face and sweetness to my heart.

11 march 2009 you turned 4mth old! mama went to work that day. i missed your routine check up.

papa and auntie lilian brought you there instead.

on 12 march you managed your 1st unassisted-left-flip ! - mama missed that, auntie lilian was so happy to report that to papa! =)

we have a auntie lilian come in to look after you while mama go to work. you seem to enjoy her company.

this a part of mama's plan to slowly get you used to having other caregivers to look after you. mama is going back to work part-time. come april you will be going to wee first infant care centre, right next to 姐姐's childcare. mama has made this choice as i believe this is the best option for now.

You visited "ah-mah" house for the first time this Chinese New Year. You slept most of the time while 姐姐 had lunch, walked the dog & water the cactus! you were sleeping so peacefully.

Ah-mah & gong gong were very happy to see you. the dogs were barking, jumping around... wondering who you were ... =)

I was hoping somehow the first blog can include the journey with you. Somehow it does not seem right.

Did not want to start this blog just for the sake of being "fair" ( I'm sure you understand Hanah) I want to start this blog cos I do have so much I want to tell you, like I want to tell your little big sister, Sarah.
